Kraaines Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Kraaines Interior & Garden Centre ("Kraaines", "we", "us") is a furniture, décor, interior design and garden centre business at 50 Karel Landman Street, Glencoe, 2930. We have been trading since 1998 and also host a monthly local food market.

This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you visit our store, use our website (kraainesglencoe.co.za), contact us, or place an order with us through our website, social media or online forms. We are the "responsible party" under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

We only collect what we need to serve you. Depending on how you deal with us, that can include:

  • Contact details: your first name, surname, phone number and email address.​

  • Order details: what you ordered, how much, and when you plan to collect it.

  • Design and project enquiries: your address, room details, preferences and photos you choose to share with our interior design team.

  • Website and social media data: basic technical information such as your device, browser and pages visited, plus messages you send us on WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram.

  • Store visits: we may keep records of purchases, deliveries and warranty or account details.

We do not ask for payment card details through online forms or social media. We do not knowingly collect information about children.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • confirm, prepare and fulfil your orders and arrange collection or delivery

  • reply to your questions, quotes and design enquiries

  • run our store, website and food market

  • keep records we are required to keep by law

  • let you know about offers or events, but only if you have agreed to hear from us or have bought from us before. You can opt out at any time.

We only use your information for the purpose you gave it to us, or a closely related one.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it when we need to, with:

  • ​staff and contractors who help us fulfil your order or project, and who are bound to keep it confidential

  • service providers such as our website host, email and messaging platforms, and delivery or installation partners

  • Meta (Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp), where you contact us or complete a form through those platforms

  • authorities or regulators, where the law requires it

Some of these providers store data on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected.

5. Storage, security and how long we keep it

We keep your information in secure digital systems and, where needed, in locked paper files. We limit access to staff who need it and take reasonable technical and organisational steps to guard against loss, misuse or unauthorised access. If there is ever a breach that puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or as long as the law requires (for example, tax and accounting records). After that, we delete or anonymise it.

6. Your rights under POPIA

You can ask us at any time to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you

  • correct or update it

  • delete it, where we no longer have a reason or legal duty to keep it

  • stop using it for marketing

  • object to how we process it

 

Contact us using the details in section 8 and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforeg.org.za.

7. Cookies, Meta and third-party platforms

​Our website uses cookies and similar tools to make the site work and to understand how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not work properly.

We advertise and take enquiries through Meta platforms. When you complete a form or message us there, Meta also processes your information under its own Data Policy. Our website may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
